New Month Check (-In)!!!!!!!

Hi! I wanted this post to be more casual and act as a little update for the new month. It’s March (again) and if you’re feeling exhausted from covid and the lack of change, you are not alone (: We have officially been in quarantine/lock-down/whatever else happens over the course of a global pandemic, for an entire year. And while this truth may feel heavy and upsetting, I want to encourage you to really think of how much you have grown since last March.

I think we often measure our growth in job promotions, how much money we have, if we moved, if we are in a new relationship, etc. While all these things have their place in our lives and are important, this year, our growth may look a little different. We have spent SO much time alone since last March. When the world stopped, we had no choice but to look inwards and really look at who we are without external stimuli for potentially the first time, ever. I, like most of you, wish covid would end like yesterday, but I am really trying to sit in this gratitude of knowing myself in an entirely new way and knowing that this could probably not have happened without covid.

Anyway, in the spirit of reflecting, here is the template I used to reflect on February and prepare for March:

Journal Reflection March

Reflecting each month helps you to live more intentionally and really compartmentalize your big dreams and ideas! It kind of reminds me of the paradox of choice which says that we feel we need choices to be happy but a surplus of choice leads us to feel less happy and less fulfilled because we don’t know what choice to make. We have so many hopes for our lives that it is often hard to figure out where to start! This month, I am working on embracing the journey rather than fixating on the destination, continuing to create an abundance mindset and learning to trust and believe in myself.

Lastly, I just wanted to add a quick note about my blog. I often struggle trying to figure out what I should be writing on here. It is so easy to compare myself to other blogs I love and other blogs that are really successful. And while obviously I created this site so that people will read it, I created it because I love to write about things that are important and interesting to me and the people in my life I’ve talked to about it! So, with that being said, I’m going to shift my focus a lil and start writing more about what actually interests me and things I love to talk about rather than just posting to say I posted. So, thank you for reading and thank you for being patient while I find my footing, hehe (:
